Serena is a woman with a secret who lives a charmed life – literally. She is keeper of an artifact and is charmed with health and immortality, as long as her virginity remains intact. Serena has never been tempted to lose her charmed existence until she meets a stranger she cannot resist.
Wraith is the selfish brother, thinking only of himself and his needs and until recently had no idea of the sacrifices his brothers had made for him due to his behaviour. When an old enemy poisons him and the only cure is to take the charm and amulet from Serena he figures it will be easy. After all, he is a sex demon, how hard could it be (pun intended!)
Wraith soon realises for him to live, Serena must die. As he gets to know her and she starts to succumb to his charms he starts to think of someone other than himself. When his brothers drop a bombshell on him regarding his sickness he has some hard decisions to make. But when the world starts collapsing around them who will end up making the ultimate sacrifice?
Yet again Larissa Ione has written an amazing story. We learn more about Wraith and his early life, starting to understand what makes him tick. Wraith is probably my favourite brother and this book showed a completely different side to him, which I loved. There was more sex in this book – surprising since the heroine needs to remain a virgin! Sex is always good however and the story definitely does not suffer for it.
The story focuses on the potential for Armageddon and it was good to see a working (well sort of) relationship between the Aegis and the demons. We also got to learn more about fallen angels and their role in the universe.
There were many unexpected parts to this book including the appearance of another brother and a surprise package for Wraith. I also loved having Kynan back in the story and his role turns out to be far more important than anyone realised.
Hot demon male, feisty human female and lots of sex – what could be better! Don’t get me wrong however this is not just about that. The whole book is as great as the previous ones. Still nothing has been done in my house!

Runa experienced almost unbelievable passion with a sexy stranger but when she discovered his betrayal, fury pushed it to the back of her mind. Her anger was further fuelled by what happened as she left his home. She wants to make him pay and searches for him only to find herself in one of the worst places imaginable.
Shade is a Seminus demon with a love curse hanging over his head which could lead to his eternal torment. When he wakes up in a dungeon belonging to the ghouls who have been stealing body parts, he finds Runa chained up next to him. She affects him more than ever, but something seems different about her, changed from the timid woman he slept with nearly a year ago. When their captor tricks them into bonding as life-mates he knows he must keep her at a distance to prevent the love curse activating. His body seems to have different ideas however, and he finds himself fighting to stay one step ahead of the madman who captured them as well as his own feelings.
If possible I felt this book was even better than the first and did not see coming what we discovered in the first few chapters. The lives of the demons we met in the first book are thrown into turmoil by this discovery and it sets the plot-line up very nicely. The story was fast moving, action packed and full of sex (lots and lots of sex!!!) – well what do you expect with Incubus demons? It was equally full of twists and turns and I liked how Larissa Ione tied in things from the first book that at the time did not register as major events.
As well as the story involving Shade and Runa we get to find out more about Wraith and I am really looking forward to reading his book. We also catch up with Kynan and learn a lot more about Gem. There was so much happening in this book and just when you think you can relax, something else comes to light. I started this book in the afternoon and by 9 pm I had finished, I could not put it down. Bring on the next one!!!

A demon slayer lands in a hospital run by demons and finds herself face to face with the most desirable male she has ever known. The head doctor Eidolon causes her to burn with desire like she has never before experienced. She is a member of the Aegis, a group sworn to destroy all demons and rid the world of their evil. Why then does she find herself torn between betraying the “family” who took her in or betraying the one man who saved her life and awakens feelings she never knew existed.
Demons and other creatures of the night have been turning up with organs missing many removed while they were still alive. Eidolon is furious one of their sworn enemy has been bought to their secret hospital especially as she could be involved in these attacks on his people. As a doctor he has to do everything he can to save her. When his brothers want to take her away and torture her to find out about the enemy he finds himself unable to let them do so. He is nearing his time of maturity where he needs a mate or could turn into the very monster he despises – are the feelings awakened by Tayla simply a result of this, or could it be he has found the one person who can save him?
Neither trusts the other; Tayla insists the Aegis are not behind these attacks, Eidolon insists they are and together they must fight to find the truth before the monsters inside both of them threaten to tear their lives apart.
Wow oh wow, I loved this book! I have not felt this excited about reading a new series since I was introduced to the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I loved everything about it, the characters were strong, it is always good when we get to see women kick ass, and I particularly loved the fact that the incubus sex demon powers were not as powerful as he thought when it came to Tayla.
I was sucked into the story and the world right from the beginning when a demon on the verge of death was being worked on in the ER just as in any regular hospital. The imagery created by the Larissa Ione was very vivid and I could almost smell the stench emanating from the demon when he finally died. From vegetarian fluffy demons to full blown soul-shredders the world really comes alive and you can almost imagine these demons living amongst us.
There is a sub plot which will move through the rest of the books in the series but there is no doubt this was a story about a slayer and a demon and their battles with themselves and each other.
I cannot wait to read the rest of the series – I guess nothing will get done in my house for the next week!
